Second correct answer?
I would think that answer 3 is also correct, because for sample sizes 30 and up, the student t distribution more and more appoximates the normal distribution.
Hi Thomas,
The Student's T distribution is similar to the Normal distribution, especially for large sample sizes, but it has fatter tails. This means that it gives more probability to values that are further from the mean, which reflects greater uncertainty when estimating the population parameters from small sample sizes.
Answer 3 doesn't highlight the key feature of the Student's T distribution: the fatter tails. While it's true that the Student's T distribution approximates the Normal distribution more closely with larger samples, this answer misses the point that the distribution always has fatter tails.
Hope this helps!
