in types of data and levels of measurement lesson you consider grades like (A+,B,..) as a numerical data but i think it will be suited more as a categorical as we divide the score of students in a groups and to be more accurate we can consider this example as an ordinal categorical data type.

just being a number doesn't mean its numerical, categorical data generally refers to those data which is used to make distinction from other data related with it. For e.g. Student ID in a college would not be considered as numerical even though its numbers but rather its categorical because it creates distinction of every data associated with every single student ID. also you can understand it in a way that doing calculations on categorical data won't provide you with any information. Here, grades are essentially range of percentages which differentiates students marks and creates different categories. Hope this would clear your doubt
