Can we always use Index and Match combination in place of Vlookup and Hlookup?

Can we always use Index and Match combination in place of Vlookup and Hlookup? I mean, can they be applied in every situation?

Hi Siddharth,
Absolutely, we can do that. Highly recommended to do it actually. The only drawback is in situations when your work file becomes too heavy. In those cases, VLOOKUP might be preferable as it is 'lighter' for the machine.
