DISCLAIMER: I haven't upgraded my Anaconda version to the registration-required build yet, so I haven't been able to personally verify the following... but it appears according to https://www.anaconda.com/pricing that the lowest subscription tier is free. So while you may need to go through a signup process, you shouldn't actually have to pay for an account.
