Real Statistic add-in
When I try to install the add-in, excel prompts me saying this file is not supported in protected view, followed by it explaining that it cannot access the file for several reasons. How do I get around this?

It sounds like Excel's security settings are preventing the add-in from being installed because it's opening in Protected View. Protected View is a read-only mode that helps protect your computer from potentially unsafe files. Try to disable Protected View and let's see if this is resolve.
1. Open Excel Options:
Go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings.
2. Disable Protected View:
Under Protected View, uncheck all boxes.
3. Add Trusted Location:
In Trusted Locations, add the folder where your add-in file is stored.
4. Enable Macros:
Go to Macro Settings and choose "Enable all macros" or "Disable all macros with notification".
5. Unblock the File:
Right-click the add-in file, select Properties, check "Unblock" at the bottom, and click OK.
