Formating Background white

in Data Analysis with Excel Pivot Tables / Inserting formulas and automating calculations

Is there a reason why to use white as a background color?
I mostly just turn off the gridlines with the same result. (View tab --> Show Hide Group --> Checkbox "gridlines")
