Resolved: Anaconda installation
@2:48 why select the 2nd option?
I have VS-code and python pre installed. Do I need to select the option to Register Anaconda3 as my default Python 3.11? please help.
Hi Agrim!
Thanks for reaching out.
In theory, you wouldn't need to select it as default, given that you already have the kernel on your computer. However, please not that this option means that you will only install this Python version, 3.11, as default for Anaconda. This will ensure Python runs smoothly with Anaconda.
Hope this helps but please get back to us should you need further assistance. Thank you!
Kind regards,
Martin
this is what I get once I check that box.
Hi Agrim!
Thank you for your reply.
I suggest you try with the same Python kernel you already have installed on your computer (I.e. follow the "Cancel" option). In other words - the Anaconda installer asks you to select their software as primary (after uninstalling what you already have). At the same time, you already have a Python 3.11 64-bit kernel on your system, so you shouldn't be really in need of the one Anaconda suggests.
Therefore, can you please follow this option and get back to us in case you are unable to launch Jupyter as shown in the course? Thank you.
Kind regards,
Martin
Hi, I followed the "Cancel" option and it is working fine. Thank You Martin!
