thanks for reaching out! We did have a free learning weekend, where all of our content was open to the students. Normally we offer the first half hour of each course free to students. So, after the free weekend ended, the remainder of the course was no longer available, that's why you were asked to upgrade. If you do decide to join, we have a promo going on right now, offering the annual plan at a discount.
