performance- or price index?

in Python for Finance / Calculating the Rate of Return of Indices

I am not sure but aren't we comparing apples with pears? GDAXI is a performance index, including dividends. I believe ixic is a price index. Wouldn't it make more sense to compare performance indices to each other, i.e. INX instead of IXIC?

Thanks for reaching out.
Both DAX (referred to by the use of the "GDAXI" ticker) and NASDAQ (referred to by the ticker "IXIC") are stock market indices. Therefore, it is legit to compare them.
