Do we need to seperate each topics into different chat box when communicating with chatGPT?

I noticed that the left panel containing many chat boxes. I guess they are different topics. In order to get good question, do I need to put different topics in different chat box so chatGPT can follow up the story or understand well my question, especially when my prompt is long and the context is complicated that I need more sentences to explain.
